Dear Cyrus’ Daddy,

My mom’s step sister came to visit last night. She made the special trip here to see Cyrus. She lived about 2 hours away from us. I had to wake Cyrus up for it. He was fine though. The cousin I haven’t seen for years came too. Cyrus got his first two red envelopes with money in it. My aunt was pretty generous. She gave him US dollars. It seems like Cyrus’ savings account is going to have more money pretty soon.

So far, all the people who know us (or seen your pictures) feel Cyrus looks more like you. This lady who sells jewelry said that Cyrus can be a baby model.

My dad took me to downtown this morning to buy a couple of tops for new year. The custom is to wear a brand new outfit for new year for good luck. I fed Cyrus three hours later after I came home. He had a lot of milk. When I held him upstraight, he threw up. Not as bad as that night though. I checked his temperature. He didn’t have a fever. He was not acting sick either. I let him rest for about half hour and nursed him again. He was fine. Whew!

My grandmother (my dad’s mom) came  today. We went to the train station to pick her up. Cyrus saw trains there. My grandmother was very happy to see him. The first thing she said was "he looks just like his father." My two brothers came home this afternoon as well. I was happy to see them, especially Yungli. I haven’t seen him for 4 years at least. He was quite different, much more like a grown man. I asked him how come he changed his plan to be a insurance sales. He said it’s tough to live on your dream when you don’t have money. He is still performing but not as much. He is hoping to get back on it when his job is more stable. His salary is totally based on his sales. I hope he will make it. I asked him to do some magic for me but he said he didn’t bring his cards. Too bad.

I asked Yungping if he got your email. He said he did but have been to busy to reply. I’ll remind him to do it in a few days.

My uncle, his wife, and their daughter are here too. You’ve met them, remember? My cousin is now in 5th grade. Time flies. I can still remember when she was a little baby. Now she is our baby’s aunt. She is really cute. At the dinner table, she asked "why does he (Cyrus) need his toys when he is having dinner?" I told her "Cyrus is not having dinner; he is hanging out." Although Cyrus is not eating yet, we still put a bowl and a pair of chopsticks in front of him. It’s the tradition. After dinner, I was putting Cyrus to sleep. My cousin asked me: "Why does a baby need to go to bed so early?" I replied, "babies need a lot of sleep, about 14 hours." "Really, they are sleeping all the time then," she said. "Ya, he naps during the day too." "Really?" "yes, you were like that too when you were a baby." "I don’t remember I was like that." She looked surprised. She asked, "does he wake up at night?" "yes, he wakes up a couple times to eat." "They wake up duing the night to eat? Babies are very strange, "she concluded.

We had a very nice dinner. I wish you were here. There will be lots of firecrackers going around midnight. I hope Cryus will be okay with it.

Lots of love,
Esther and Cyrus
